About third of Latvia's new Covid-19 cases recorded in Riga
RIGA, Oct 19 (LETA) - Out of the 1,853 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, about one third was reported in Riga, with many cases discovered also in Daugavpils, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 643 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 7,976.
Daugavpils registered 156 new cases as the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases grew to 1,810.
Rezekne reported 73 new cases, Jelgava - 53, Ogre municipality - 52, Jekabpils municipality - 49, Valmiera municipality - 48, Marupe municipality - 47. A number of other municipalities registered fewer cases.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population grew 1,351.8, according to LETA's estimates based on CDC data.
