RIGA, May 31 (LETA) - The State Employment Agency (NVA) by May 31 has received applications from 16 companies on their planned collective redundancies this year, and in total 1,317 employees will be fired, LETA learned from NVA.

Companies who have submitted their applications represent such areas as manufacturing, constructions, transport and storage, finances and insurance, administration and services, wholesale and retail, etc.

Seven applications were submitted in the Riga regional branch, four in Daugavpils branch, one in Rezekne, Cesis, Valmiera and Jekabpils branches and NVA board each.
