Municipal Police in Riga had to take children to a safe environment more often last year
RIGA, March 8 (LETA) - Last year, Riga Municipal Police had to take children to a safe environment much more often, according to information gathered by the Riga Municipal Police.
While in 2024 police officers took 398 children to a safe environment, in 2025 they took 830 children to a safe environment.
The number of children separated from their families has also slightly increased. Last year 49 children were separated from their families, while in 2024 the figure will be 44.
During the year, 609 decisions were taken on the imposition of measures of an educational nature involving minors.
In total, police officers carried out behavior related discussions minors and their parents on 1,676 occasions last year, while 637 interventions or an educational nature or school meetings were held.
