27 investment projects implemented in regions with support from Latvian Investment and Development Agency
RIGA, April 30 (LETA) - In two years, 27 investment projects have been implemented in regions with direct support from the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), and the aggregate planned investment volume reached EUR 246.3 million, LETA learned from LIAA.
The implemented projects will create at least 1,718 jobs.
Most of the projects outside Riga were implemented in Vidzeme (14), followed by Kurzeme (6), Latgale (4) and Zemgale (3). The largest investments were made in Vidzeme - EUR 97.5 million, then Kurzeme - EUR 81.5 million, Latgale - EUR 43.5 million and Zemgale - EUR 23.8 million.
The new projects created 1,005 new jobs in Vidzeme, 475 in Latgale, 155 in Kurzeme, and 83 in Zemgale.
The largest foreign investments outside Riga were made in Orkla Latvija in its Adazi plant, while the largest number of jobs was created by Webhelp company in Daugavpils - 250 new jobs.
Currently LIAA is working with 21 active projects with the total investments over EUR 1.3 billion.
