State Police infrastructure in Valmiera is outdated - Rinkevics
Riga, March 27 (LETA) - The infrastructure for the State Police in Valmiera is outdated and does not meet modern requirements, President Edgars Rinkevics said today after visiting the West Vidzeme Precinct of the State Police.
According to the president's press service, on Friday the president visited the West Vidzeme Precinct in Valmiera, met with the State Police officers and got acquainted with the infrastructure of the precinct.
"The existing infrastructure is outdated in many places and does not meet modern requirements, which complicates the qualitative performance of the duties of the State Police and compliance with security requirements," Rinkevics said.
In his opinion, a modern and functional infrastructure, predictable remuneration and reliance on social guarantees are essential motivating factors for sustainable recruitment to positions in the Ministry of the Interior.
On Friday, the president also visited educational institutions, enterprises and internal security institutions in Smiltene and Valmiera municipalities.
