Ragainis elected chairman of Jekabpils Region Council
RIGA, July 1 (LETA) - Former Jekabpils Mayor Raivis Ragainis (Latvian Green Party) was elected chairman of Jekabpils Region Council on Thursday.
Ragainis was supported by 12 out of 19 Jekabpils Region Council members. The new Jekabpils Region coalition is made up of Latvian Green Party, Association Residents, National Alliance, New Conservative Party, Latvian Association of Regions, Unity, Harmony, and Latvian Farmers' Union.
For Latvia's Development and Jekabpils Regional Party make up the opposition at the new Jekabpils Region Council.
