Riga City Council plans EUR 46,000 allocation to promote police officers' vaccination against Covid-19
RIGA, Sept 20 (LETA) - Riga City Council plans to approve a EUR 46,000 allocation, which will be spent on promoting municipal police officers' vaccination against Covid-19.
According to the agenda of the September 22 meeting of the city council's security, public order and corruption prevention committee, the money would be provided from the city's contingency funds.
Those departments of the Riga Municipal Police whose share of immunized officers exceeds 80 percent will receive EUR 5,000, the juvenile delinquency unit will receive EUR 2,000 and EUR 4,000 will be provided to the administration.
The extra funding might be used to reward and support employees of the municipal police, to improve their work environment and professional skills.
At present, 614 employees of the Riga Municipal Police, or 77 percent, have either had Covid-19 or have been vaccinated against the virus.
