More than 170 new buses to start running on regional routes
RIGA, Oct 30 (LETA) - Starting November 1, more than 170 new buses will join the regional bus fleet, meeting higher quality requirements, the Road Transport Directorate said on October 30.
The new buses will cover a total of 818 routes, ensuring 4,916 runs across the country.
They will not only be more comfortable and safer, but also more accessible to people with reduced mobility, vision, and hearing, and some will be more environmentally friendly.
The new buses will meet higher quality requirements and their average age will not exceed four years. They will be equipped with electronic route signs, seat belts, wireless internet, and cashless payment.
ATD is the implementer of a common national policy in the field of international transport, licensing of commercial road transport business and public transport planning.
