Adlers re-elected chairman of Aluksne Region Council
RIGA, June 26 (LETA) - Dzintars Adlers (New Unity) was re-elected chairman of Aluksne Region Council on Thursday, defeating the other candidate, Arturs Dukulis (Union of Greens and Farmers) by three votes.
As reported, the Greens/Farmers won the local elections in Aluksne municipality. Greens/Farmers received 23.97 percent of the vote, leaving behind the National Alliance, which received 22.53 percent.
The New Unity followed with 20.15 percent of the vote, Latvia's Green Party received 9.74 percent, and the Latvian Association of Regions - 6.81 percent.
The Greens/Farmers, the National Alliance and the New Unity won four seats each, Latvia's Green Party won two seats and Latvian Association of Regions got one seat at Aluksne regional council.
