Progressives will join forces with Movement For and regional partners in the elections

RIGA, June 26 (LETA) - The Progressives political party will run on joint tickets with Movement For, as well as the regional political forces We For Talsi and the Region and Together For Liepaja in the upcoming parliament elections, the Progressives told LETA.

Andris Suvajevs, the Progressives' candidate for the prime minister, noted that the goal of the collaboration is to unite pro-European democratic forces and strengthen their representation in the Saeima. He believes that uniting political forces is essential to prevent the rise of populist influence and ensure that Latvia continues on its pro-Western course.

Meanwhile, Miks Celmins, a board member of Movement For, emphasized that the party has decided to join the joint campaign to reduce the fragmentation of progressive and democratic parties. In his view, a united political force is necessary to prevent radical forces from dominating the next Saeima.

Similarly, the Progressives will continue the cooperation begun in the previous Saeima elections with the regional party We For Talsi and the Region. Its representatives will run on the Progressives' ticket in the Kurzeme electoral district, emphasizing the importance of regional development, entrepreneurship, and access to services.

At the same time, the Progressives' list will also be joined in these elections by the newly formed political organization Together For Liepaja, which brings together Liepaja residents with the goal of strengthening the local community and its representation at the national level.

The leaders of the Progressives' lists for the 15th Saeima elections are scheduled to be announced on Monday, June 29, at an event in Riga.

As reported, submission of candidate lists for the 15th Saeima elections began on June 20. Lists may be submitted until July 5.

The 15th Saeima elections will take place in early October.
