Jelgava Vice-Mayor Ozolins to be suspended for not having Covid-19 certificate
RIGA, Nov 17 (LETA) - Jelgava Vice-Mayor Andris Ozolins (Latvian Green Party) will be suspended from his job today as Ozolins does not have a Covid-19 certificate.
An extraordinary meeting of Jelgava City Council will be held at 2 p.m. to suspend Ozolina. According to the council, Ozolins has publicly expressed his opinion about "restrictions on the voluntary vaccination process", saying that he will stand behind his opinion.
Jelgava City Council will also vote on suspending councilors Irina Dolgova (Harmony) and Gundars Liepa (National Alliance).
Jelgava City Council members had time until Monday evening to inform the local election commission whether they had Covid-19 certificates, or present a document from a clinical university specialist recommending them to postpone vaccination until a later time.
