Additional EUR 967,832 allocated for protecting Latvian-Belarusian border
RIGA, May 31 (LETA) - The government on Tuesday decided to allocate additional EUR 967,832 to the Interior Ministry for protecting the Latvian-Belarusian border.
The allocated money will cover expenses for April 1-30. The Interior Ministry will pay for overtime, additional payments, business trips for employees, catering and food for asylum seekers.
As reported, taking into account the increased pressure of illegal immigration, the Latvian government in May decided to extend the state of emergency in Ludza, Kraslava and Augsdaugava counties, as well as in Daugavpils until August 10.
