Riga City Council increases support for Riga Marathon
Riga, Feb 26 (LETA) - The Riga City Council today decided to increase support for the Riga Marathon to EUR 300,000.
On February 28 last year, the Riga City Council decided to increase support for the marathon from EUR 81,060 to EUR 191,060. Now the City Council has decided to allocate EUR 300,000 for the marathon.
The municipal support represents around 15 percent of the total budget of the event.
The contract with Nords Event Communications to host the Riga Marathon was signed by the municipality in 2022.
With this contract, the municipality entrusted the agency with the exclusive right to organize the Riga Marathon for five years.
