Valmiera boasts highest Covid-19 vaccination rate among Latvia's large cities
RIGA, Jan 31 (LETA) - Among Latvia's large cities, Valmiera boasts the highest Covid-19 vaccination rate with 70 percent of its population jabbed, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
Latvia's capital city Riga and seaside city Jurmala follow with 66 percent of their residents vaccinated for Covid-19, Liepaja and Jelgava with 65 percent, Ventspils with 64 percent, and Jekabpils and Daugavpils with 61 percent vaccine uptake.
At the end of January, 65 percent of Latvia's population had completed their vaccination course.
Among Latvia's provinces, the highest percentage of vaccinated residents has been recorded in Vidzeme where 67 percent of the population are fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
Riga and its surrounding municipalities follow with 66 percent, Kurzeme and Zemgale with 65 percent and Latgale with 60 percent.
