Coalition partners debate which planning region Varaklani should belong to
RIGA, June 14 (LETA) - Latvia's government coalition partners in a meeting on Monday debated which planning region - Vidzeme or Latgale - Varaklani should belong to, MP Janis Dombrava (National Alliance) said following the weekly coalition meeting.
The National Alliance believes that Varaklani Region could be included in the Latgale planning region, but does not rule out a transition period during which Varaklani could belong both to the Vidzeme and Latgale planning region, Dombrava said.
At its June 8 meeting, the government adopted amendments to the regulation on planning regions to include Varaklani Region in the Vidzeme planning region.
