Welfare Ministry concerned about unwillingness of employees of social care institutions to get vaccinated against Covid-19

RIGA, Jan 27 (LETA) - The Welfare Ministry is concerned about unwillingness of some employees of social care institutions to get vaccinated, said Welfare Ministry's social services department director Aldis Dudins at the Saeima defense, interior affairs and corruption prevention committee meeting today.

Speaking about the upcoming vaccination process in social care institutions, Dudins said that vaccination is voluntary, but the ministry is concerned about unwillingness of employees to get the vaccines.

"We have started to collect information about vaccination, but we are concerned about one thing. I would not like to name any of the institutions, but there is one municipal social care institutions, where 95 percent of clients voiced readiness to vaccinate, but none of the employees wants to get vaccinated," said Dudins.

Dudins said that in this case additional informative measures and good practice examples are needed.
