    6.7% of residents last year were unable to pay their utility bills, rent or loan due to lack of finances

    RIGA, March 29 (LETA) - Last year, 6.7 percent of the population was unable to pay utility bills, rent or repay a loan due to lack of finances, according to information compiled by the Central Statistical Office.

    Compared to 2024, the proportion of such people has decreased by 0.7 percentage points.

    Proportionally, the highest share were people between 18 to 24 years of age - 8.8 percent of people in this age group had such problems.

    In urban areas, 7.2 percent of the population had such problems, and in rural areas, 5.6 percent.
