Greens/Farmers and United List take lead in Saeima elections in Kurzeme electoral district
RIGA, Oct 2 (LETA) - The Union of Greens and Farmers and the United List have both emerged as leaders in Latvia's parliamentary elections in the Kurzeme electoral district, the Central Election Commission's data shows.
Greens/Farmers have a narrow lead over the United List with 21.55 percent of the vote, while the United List is close second with 21.29 percent.
New Unity is third in Kurzeme with 16.42 percent of the vote, followed by the National Alliance with 10.02 percent.
Other parties have not succeeded to surpass the 5 percent vote threshold in Kurzeme where 4.88 percent of voters have supported the Progressives, 4.32 percent have voted for Latvia First, 3.11 percent have supported For Him and Her and 3.07 percent Development/For.
Of the 180,070 eligible voters in Kurzeme, 108,073 turned out for the parliamentary elections on Saturday.
