Highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia reported in Preili, Daugavpils, Rezekne
RIGA, April 14 (LETA) - The highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia is currently recorded in the country's eastern municipalities, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has dropped to 685.2 cases per 100,000 population, with 19 municipalities reporting higher infection rates.
In the past two weeks, Preili municipality has recorded 1,772.2 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population. Daugavpils follows with 1,325.9 cases per 100,000 population and Rezekne municipality 1,147.6 cases per 100,000 population.
The lowest two-week Covid-19 incidence rate - 265.8 cases per 100,000 population - is currently in the municipality of Bauska in southern Latvia.
Of the 812 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past day, 24 percent, or 200 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
