    17 people detained on Latvian border on Tuesday

    RIGA, June 22 (LETA) - On Tuesday, the State Border Guard caught 46 people violating regulations on Latvia's external border and internally, LETA learned from the Border Guard.

    As many as 17 trespassers were detained on Latvia's external borders. Eight Ukrainian citizens were caught for violating residence regulations on Grebneva, Terehova, and Riga airport border checkpoints. In one case, no procedures were started, but in two other cases administrative cases were launched.

    Two Latvian citizens without valid travel documents to the UK and two Latvian citizens without valid travel documents were caught at Silene border crossing point and at Riga airport.

    Six persons - two Lithuanian citizens, one Russian citizen, one Tajik citizen, one Uzbek citizen and one Estonian citizen were caught violating travel or residence rules.

    At the same time, 23 persons - six Belarusian citizens, five Russian citizens, four Latvian citizens, four Lithuanian citizens, three Kazakh citizens and one Moldovan citizen - were caught for violations in exploitation of transport vehicles.
