RIGA, Jan 20 (LETA) - Apartment transactions in the segment of new residential projects in Latvia's seaside city Jurmala grew 11 percent from 2020 to 116 transactions last year, Arco Real Estate board member Maris Laukalejs told LETA. 

Also, 208 transactions were recorded in Jurmalas' segment of large apartments. The total number of transactions in the segment of new housing was 374 last year. After the critical year of 2015, when Jurmala only recorded 74 transactions, the segment has been showing steady growth, Laukalejs said. 

Commenting on apartment price trends in Jurmala, Laukalejs said that the gap between the lowest and highest prices narrowed as the highest number of transactions were recorded in the middle segment. The lowest prices tended to rise and transactions in the high-end segment decreased. 

In 2021, the average apartment prices in the segment of new residential projects was EUR 2,081 per square meter, with transaction prices ranging between EUR 651 and EUR 5,656 per square meter. 

The total worth of new apartment transactions in Jurmala was EUR 32 million in 2021, Laukalejs said.
