RIGA, Dec 20 (LETA) - The municipalities of Ventspils, Salaspils and Gulbene are currently showing the highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has increased to 523.2 per 100,000 population. Over the past day, Covid-19 incidence in Ventspils dropped from 927.9 to 918.6 cases per 100,000 population. In Salaspils the rate of infections rose from 787.1 to 809 cases per 100,000 population and in Gulbene municipality Covid-19 incidence remained unchanged, at 739.1 cases per 100,000 population.

In 18 municipalities, the number of active Covid-19 infections currently exceeds Latvia's average number. 

Of the 326 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 53 percent, or 172 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
