Normunds Feierbergs Confirmed as a Member of the Management Board of RIX Riga Airport

Following the conclusion of a selection process, the Supervisory Board of SJSC Riga International Airport has confirmed Normunds Feierbergs, the RIX Riga Airport’s current Board Member, for the position of a Member of the Board.
The nomination committee established by the Airport’s Supervisory Board put forward two candidates for the final decision at the Supervisory Board meeting held on 7 July. The candidates had achieved the highest scores across the three stages of the selection process. Following a vote by the Supervisory Board, Normunds Feierbergs was confirmed as a Member of the Board responsible for the strategic management of finance and information technology.
A total of 24 applications were received for the position. Candidates were assessed by a nomination committee comprising representatives of the Riga Airport Supervisory Board, the State Chancellery’s Cross-Sectoral Coordination Department Corporate Governance Division, the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance, Riga municipal transport company Rīgas satiksme, and aviation industry experts. In the final stage of the process, candidates were also evaluated by an external executive recruitment consultancy.
As his priorities while continuing his work as a Member of the Board of RIX Riga Airport, Normunds Feierbergs highlights the development of Airport infrastructure in line with passenger growth trends and the appropriate financing of development projects. It is essential to implement the Airport passenger terminal expansion project, continue the digitalisation and automation of Airport processes, and improve the passenger experience and the quality of services provided by the Airport.
Normunds Feierbergs has served as a Member of the Board of RIX Riga Airport since 2016. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Before joining the Airport, he served as Head of Information Technology and Vice President at JSC Latvijas Krājbanka, and as Head of General Banking Services and First Vice President at JSC UniCredit Bank. He has also held several senior management positions in other companies.
