Augusta sākumā Pastendē atrasti Spānijas kailgliemeži "Arion lusitanicus", kas lielākajā Eiropas daļā ir nozīmīgs lauksaimniecības kaitēklis un invazīva suga. Spānijas kailgliemežu pieauguši īpatņi var sasniegt pat 10 centimetru garumu, un tie parādās augustā, aktīvi barojas un rudenī dēj olas.
